City of Fort Worth: Public meeting seeks comments on permanent supportive housing

-

Fort Worth, TX – May 11, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Attend a learning session, a public hearing and a task force discussion on permanent supportive housing in Fort Worth at 6 p.m. May 13 at Ella Mae Shamblee Public Library, 1062 Evans Ave.

The meeting will provide the last of several opportunities to provide feedback to the city’s Task Force on Permanent Supportive Housing, which was convened in August 2014.

At 6 p.m., residents can visit a series of listen-and-learn stations that provide details on the need for permanent supportive housing in the community. The hearing and public comment period will begin at 6:30 p.m.

After the hearing, the task force will send its final recommendations to the City Council, which is expected to vote on a resolution on June 2.

Increasing the supply of permanent supportive housing is integral to the City of Fort Worth’s work to promote orderly and sustainable development and to make Fort Worth the nation’s safest major city.

Since 2007, permanent supportive housing has helped reduce homelessness by 33 percent.
