Ortiz Announces More Than $2.7 Million Awarded For Homeless Families
WASHINGTON, DC – July 10, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) – Today, U.S. Rep. Solomon P. Ortiz (TX-27) announced more than $2.7 million awarded in federal funding to assist families who are homeless throughout the 27th Congressional District of Texas with housing expenses.
Brownsville is slated to receive $1,347,839 and Corpus Christi will receive $1,393,181, according to figures provided by the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
“One of the worst situations a person or family can face during their lifetime is being homeless,” Ortiz said. “Many families are facing economic hardships, and I know the residents of South Texas, who face these conditions, will be able to benefit from these funds.”
