WASHINGTON, D.C. – July 20, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Congressman Randy Weber (R-Friendswood) reintroduced the Empowering our Veterans Act (H.R. 3113), which would prohibit the Veterans Administration (VA) from spending any more money on alternative energy projects, and reallocate any unobligated funds toward reducing the VA enrollee backlog.
“News recently came to light that 28-percent of veterans in the VA’s enrollee backlog have died. This statistic is frightening and unconscionable. Yet, at the same time, the VA has wasted millions of dollars on renewable energy generating projects at VA facilities across the country. My legislation is a common-sense proposal to block wasteful spending and ensure that our veterans get the care they deserve in a timely manner. Diverting money from alternative energy projects to help our veterans is the obvious choice to combat the crisis at the VA.”
