Mayor Bill White Appointing David Mincberg To Houston Housing Authority Board
Houston, TX – July 20, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — Mayor Bill White today announced he is appointing businessman/attorney David Mincberg to the Houston Housing Authority (HHA) Board of Commissioners. Mincberg, CEO of Flagship Properties Corp., will fill an open seat on the board. He is expected to replace Timothy F. Seckinger in the chairman’s position. Seckinger will remain on the board during a transition period.
Tim has done an outstanding job and we are grateful for his leadership, steady hand and his willingness to serve,” said Mayor White. “I have asked David to take up the reins and he is highly qualified and committed to continuing the progress through which Tim has guided HHA.
The Mayor added that he is asking Mincberg to focus on several things, including examining all of HHA’s operations, with a particular eye toward customer service, acceleration of efforts to create opportunities for first-time home buyers, and asset management practices of the Authority.
Since 1977, Mincberg has been directly involved in the development and construction of over 30,000 multi-family housing units. Additionally, Flagship and Mincberg invest in a variety of different investments, ranging from subdivision developments to a start-up deregulated energy provider. He also serves as president of Flagship Mezzanine Funding, LP, a company that provides mezzanine and equity financing in commercial real estate transactions. Prior to entering the real estate investment business, Mincberg practiced general business law with an emphasis on business structure and organization.
Mincberg served from 2006 to 2007 in the “dollar-a-year” position of Special Assistant to the Mayor for Multi-family Housing Policy. In that position he coordinated the housing agencies in the City of Houston, with an emphasis on increasing the affordable housing stock.
Mincberg is married to Lainie Gordon. They are the parents of five children.
