Centex Joins Operation FINALLY HOME to Build Hope and Home for U.S. Air Force Veteran and Family

FORT WORTH, TX – September 1, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — Centex joined Operation FINALLY HOME, recently, to announce that retired U.S. Air Force Captain Jason Vest, his wife, son (age 7) and daughter (age 5) will be able to stop dreaming of a new home – they will be able to start living in one as recipients of a house in the Centex community of West Fork Ranch in North Fort Worth, Texas.

Vest, a native of Fort Worth, enlisted in the Air Force in 2000 as an airborne radio operator and commissioned as an officer to serve as a pilot in 2006. He served in both Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He has been recognized with many service awards, commendations and medals including expert marksman, AF Outstanding Unit Award with Valor, Air Medal with Five Oak Leaf Clusters, and Meritorious Unit Award. Vest recently retired after being diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease, which has left him unable to perform many simple tasks, most importantly participating fully in day-to-day family life.

“I have loved every day of my Air Force career and would do it all over again,” Captain Vest said. “PulteGroup and the Bay Area Builder’s Operation Finally Home organization are perfect examples of the great American spirit that made defending our country so rewarding. They are providing my family with an incredibly positive return home to Fort Worth, Texas, in the aftermath and midst of very difficult times.”

“This is one of those times in life where you can see God’s hand at work, and we feel very blessed to be included,” Vest explained. “To everyone involved, I would like to say thank you for your unselfishness and generosity in taking the time and resources to reach out to my family. It means so much to see such acts of kindness, and has brought unspeakable joy to me, my wife, and two children. I cannot say thank you enough.”

Centex, known for producing reliably built, smartly designed and affordable homes, is donating the lot and construction of the home and will coordinate the donation of all materials and labor. After choosing a model and options, Centex will work with Vest and his family to further customize the home to address special needs.

“PulteGroup, through its Centex brand, is honored to participate with Operation FINALLY HOME to help put this brave veteran in a better place, which is what the Centex brand is all about,” said Steven Langridge, vice president of sales for the Dallas operations of Centex. “Captain Vest is a testament to courage, tenacity and valor, we hope that this home will help ease his struggles and provide him and his wife with security and peace of mind as they raise their young children.”

“Operation FINALLY HOME is truly honored to be teaming with PulteGroup in changing the life of Capt Jason Vest and his family,” said Dan Wallrath, Operation FINALLY HOME founder. “We feel wounded service members like Capt. Vest have paid for their homes in full on the battle field. It is our responsibility to ensure they get them.”

West Fork Ranch, a new Pulte Homes and Centex master-planned community, provides an outstanding array of amenities and value for residents. The 1,300-unit community is in the prestigious Keller Independent School District and is conveniently located with great accessibility to I-35, I-820. Downtown Fort Worth is only nine miles away. Substantial amenities currently planned include a three-acre resort-style pool area, equipped with a splash park and beach entry; a 4,000-square-foot pavilion with outdoor kitchens and fireplaces; as well as a four-acre park, playgrounds, sports fields, and miles of hike and bike trails.
