RE/MAX of Texas Becomes Company Owned Region
DENVER, CO – January 04, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — As of December 31, 2012, RE/MAX of Texas, with its 4,300 agents and 260 offices, becomes the 11th Company Operated Region owned by RE/MAX, LLC of Denver. Richard and Jeanne Filip, owners of RE/MAX of Texas since 1996, agreed to transfer ownership of the Master Franchise for the state of Texas, but remain the owners of several individual RE/MAX brokerages.
“For more than 30 years Richard and Jeanne have been dedicated to RE/MAX, and after they became region owners, they built an impressive network of offices and agents across the State of Texas,” said Dave Liniger, RE/MAX Co-Founder and Chairman. “It’s difficult to describe the many contributions they’ve made, but more importantly, they’ve been loyal friends to so many over the years.”
RE/MAX first came to Texas in 1977 and is now the real estate leader in statewide market share, leading in List Side Units Sold in communities large and small from Houston to Hickory Creek. RE/MAX of Texas earned the honor of Region of the Year in 2006 and 2007, and for the last 5 years has been named the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Region of the Year.
“Jeanne and I have counted each RE/MAX of Texas Affiliate as a member of our family as we have operated this region from our Houston office,” said Richard Filip. “This is a business decision that was very hard for us to make, but one I truly believe is best for the entire RE/MAX of Texas region.”
The current RE/MAX of Texas staff will remain on the job in their Houston office for the foreseeable future, continuing to support all RE/MAX offices and agents in Texas.

The last time RE/MAX, LLC added to its inventory of Company Owned Regions was in 2007, when it purchased the Master Franchise for three regions; RE/MAX California and Hawaii, RE/MAX Florida and REMAX Carolinas.

This is the tenth time in the last 14 years that RE/MAX has earned top honors.
