(Partner), a national environmental and engineering consulting firm headquartered in Torrance, Calif. and one of the country’s fastest-growing companies, has hired the highly respected industry veteran Roy Canino as technical director in the Dallas office.
A registered architect since 1974, Canino brings over 40 years of experience in all phases of architecture and with a variety of building types. He is experienced in all aspects of project planning, project management, scheduling and construction observation.

Prior to joining Partner, Canino was the director of facilities services with Gaia Tech Inc. He was also a vice president of building sciences for AEI Consultants, where he developed templates, checklists, standards and processes to complete Property Condition Assessments and helped grow the building sciences program.
Throughout his career, Canino has worked with a variety of national and regional clients including buyers, investors and lenders such as Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. His diverse past project history includes preparing design and construction documentation for millions of square feet of commercial and multifamily buildings in Houston, Dallas and Austin; Property Condition Assessments for a 32 property high-rise office building portfolio in Dallas and Houston; litigation support for construction claims for a natural gas facility in New Jersey; review and involvement in over $40 million in construction related claims for the Los Angeles MetroRail; earthquake inspections for all city-owned buildings for the City of Santa Monica, Calif. after the Northridge earthquake; and project management of a 222 national property hotel portfolio.

Canino graduated from the University of Houston with a bachelor’s degree in architecture. He received his AHERA certification from the University of California, Berkeley, where he also taught the first AHERA asbestos training course. Canino is a registered architect in Texas, California and Washington. He is also a member of the Building Energy Performance Assessment Group, National Association of Commercial Real Estate Due Diligence Professionals, Phi Kappa Theta’s Professional Network, Real Estate E2018 PCA and the University of Houston Architecture Alumni.
