Congressman Johnson to Chair the Tax Reform Working Group on Real Estate
Encourages Constituents and Stakeholders to Provide Comments
Washington, DC – February 25, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — As the recently named Chairman of the Tax Reform Working Group on Real Estate, Congressman Sam Johnson (R-TX) encourages constituents and stakeholders to share their comments about the tax laws affecting real estate. The Tax Reform Working Group on Real Estate is one of eleven bipartisan groups that will review current law as well as identify and compile feedback as part of the committee’s tax reform effort. Congressman Bill Pascrell (D-NJ) is serving as Vice-Chairman.
“I am pleased to be working with colleagues from both sides of the aisle as part of the committee’s effort to reform our broken and complicated tax code once and for all. I look forward to hearing directly from experts, stakeholders and constituents about their views on the tax treatment of this important sector of our economy,” said Johnson. The input is intended to help the Ways and Means Committee put together the best reform bill possible. “It is important that those who have a stake in this issue have a say in the process,” concluded Johnson.
Johnson is also a member of the Pensions/Retirement working group. To submit comments or request a meeting with Congressman Johnson on the Tax Reform Working Group on Real Estate or Pensions/Retirement, please email: JohnsonTX03 (at) mail.house (dot) gov .
