Austin Board of REALTORS® Welcomes Cathy Coneway as 2013 Chairman
Coneway brings statewide, national experience to leadership role representing 8,800+ Austin-area REALTORS®
AUSTIN, TX – January 21, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — The Austin Board of REALTORS® (ABoR) welcomes Cathy Coneway as chairman of the organization’s board of directors for 2013. Broker Associate with Stanberry & Associates, Coneway has a long track record of leadership and service within the real estate industry locally, statewide and nationally.
“I am honored to serve our members as chairman of the Austin Board of REALTORS®,” said Coneway. “Austin has become recognized as one of the best places in the country to own a home and our region continues to grow quickly. With that growth come opportunities and challenges for our community. The Austin Board of REALTORS® will take a leadership role in addressing those challenges.”
A REALTOR® member of ABoR since 2005, Cathy has served in many leadership roles for the organization, including chair of the ABoR Foundation, vice-chair of the Investment Committee, vice-chair of the Bylaws Committee, co-chair of the Scholarship Committee, and a member of the Austin/Central Texas Realty Information Service (ACTRIS) Advisory Committee.
Coneway has also been active within the REALTOR® organization on a statewide basis, serving as chair of the Texas Association of REALTORS® Commercial Committee and member of the Professional Standards Committee. Nationally, Coneway has been active on the National Association of REALTORS® Commercial Committee and the REALTORS® Property Resource Task Force.
Beyond the REALTOR® organization, Coneway has held other leadership roles in the real estate industry, including serving as founder and president of the Central Texas Commercial Association of REALTORS® (CTCAR), founder and president of CREW Austin, director of Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), director of the Home Builders Association of Austin, and treasurer for the Austin Chapter of Women’s Council of REALTORS®.
In addition to industry leadership, Coneway is also passionate about community service. She has twice served on the board of directors for the Austin Chamber of Commerce; was president of the Oak Hill Business and Professional Association; and was a board member and an advisory board member for the Downtown Austin Alliance. She was also chairman of the Austin Chapter of the American Heart Association; a board member for Habitat for Humanity; president of the Estates of Barton Creek and Valley of Lost Creek Homeowners Association; a board member for Life Savings Bank; and a board member for South Austin Hospital.
