Marchant Votes to Block President’s Clean Power Plan

WASHINGTON, D.C. – December 02, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — The House today passed S.J. Res 23 and S.J. Res 24, two bills that would block harmful Obama Administration regulations on energy producers. Specifically, the bills utilize the Congressional Review Act to prohibit the administration from issuing the same or substantively similar regulations without legislation from Congress.

“The president has subverted the legislative process to impose massive regulations on new and existing power plants. These rules will hinder energy production, destroy jobs, and drive up energy costs for American families. Under the Congressional Review Act, Congress has a chance to stop this executive overreach in its tracks.
