Congressman Rubén Hinojosa Announces Over $6 Million in HUD Grants For Texas District 15 Public Housing Agencies

Washington, DC – June 21, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — U.S. Rep. Rubén Hinojosa (TX-15) announced the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has awarded a total of $6,429,105 to Public Housing Agencies in his Congressional Texas District 15.

The funding comes from the 2010 Capital Fund Program Award. The program provides funds annually to Public House Agencies (PHA’s) for capital and management activities, including modernization and development of public housing.

“The upgrading and maintaining of our public housing is an on going process that we continue to support”, said Rep. Hinojosa. “As our population grows and our economy strengthens, our residents will benefit from federal grants that help provide needed housing. The directors and employees who manage the public housing agencies work every day assisting our residents in obtaining public housing and I’m glad to see they are receiving funds to help them continue their good work in our communities”.
