Austin Board of REALTORS® named presenting sponsor for Leadership Austin 2013-14 ENGAGE Breakfast Series

Through partnership, organizations will connect community leaders to discuss Austin’s most vital issues

AUSTIN, TX – September 18, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — Today, the Austin Board of REALTORS® (ABoR) announced a partnership with Leadership Austin as the presenting sponsor for the 2013-14 ENGAGE Breakfast Series, a monthly event that brings together high profile Austin leaders and key stakeholders to present in-depth and interactive discussions on important, timely, and often complex regional issues.

Paul Hilgers, CEO of ABoR, explained: “This partnership is a natural fit. Both of our organizations believe that community leaders need to become educated on the critical issues facing Central Texas so we can understand different perspectives and treat all sides with dignity and respect so we can work together, to continue Austin’s current growth and sustain our quality of life.”

ABoR joins Austin news network KXAN and the Long Center of Performing Arts as supporters of the ENGAGE series. Each event is moderated by a member of KXAN’s news team and is held at the Long Center.

Christopher Kennedy, Interim CEO for Leadership Austin, adds: “Like Leadership Austin, ABoR facilitates meaningful conversations on the issues that matter most for Austin’s communities and its future growth, so we’re thrilled to have the Austin Board of REALTORS® as this year’s presenting sponsor.”

This past year, almost every ENGAGE Breakfast Series event sold out in advance. The series featured interactive discussions with key stakeholders on transportation and mobility solutions, Austin’s rapidly growing housing market, growth of the Hispanic population in Central Texas, public safety, education, job creation, new models for philanthropy, Austin’s growing veteran population and the 2012 election.

The 2013-14 ENGAGE series launches on Wednesday, October 2 and is held on the first Wednesday of every month from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. at the Long Center (701 W. Riverside Drive). Individual tickets are $25 or a Series Pass to all nine events can be purchased for $200.
